Darling Mark,

         Hello Sweetheart ! !

I just got your letter about an hour ago & I’m not waiting a couple of days to answer. There isn’t much doing now. We’ve been getting the vehicles back in shape & that’s done. Most of the time there’s a lot of nonsense going on when no officers are around.

         We’re having another beer party tonite. A couple of officers are leaving our co. & they’re giving us a beer party. So we have to be sociable & drink – you know.

         I won’t get my furlough from here. It’ll be after we get to our next camp. So I figure it’ll be some time about the middle of Nov. I don’t know where we’re going – but there’s a lot of rumors going around – Camp Polk La, Fort Bragg, N. Carolina & Texas.  I don’t care, just so we get out of here.

         Where in the hell did you get the idea I wouldn’t see you on my furlough? Just try & keep me away.

         Well, honey it’s about time to fall out so I’ll close & get this in this afternoon’s meal male - mail. I’ll get it right yet maybe.
